The Flexible Choice for Office Space
Shipping containers are perfect for temporary, and in some cases permanent, office space. They are frequently used on construction sites, and companies also regularly use containers for “satellite” offices at sites such as lumberyards or load/unload sites where a limited number of staff is needed.
For your needs across the Pacific Northwest and in the Tacoma area, Mountain Container has a selection that is perfect for shipping container offices.

FLEXIBILITY
Custom built shipping containers can be put up more quickly than other structures, and can be easily moved if necessary—sometimes even with a forklift, depending on the size of the container. The ready availability of different container sizes also makes it possible to quickly expand and/or contract the footprint; you can simply add a container, or swap for one that is a different size. There are modified shipping containers for rent in the Tacoma area available in many sizes and colors.
CUSTOMIZATION
Of course, custom container spaces are almost always wired for electricity so occupants can have lighting, air conditioning, computer access, etc. You also can add windows, additional doors, and even plumbing* if it’s a permanent work space.
*The cost and logistics make plumbing impractical for temporary offices.

ACCESSIBILITY
GROUND LEVEL ACCESS
Because containers usually are placed at ground level, accessibility issues typically are minimal or nonexistent, with no steps or ramps required to enter or exit.
COST
CONTAINER VS. CONSTRUCTION
Shipping containers are very competitive when compared with the cost of building traditional structures, or renting or purchasing a prefab office. Depending on lumber prices, which skyrocketed in 2021, the cost discrepancy between a container and construction can be even greater.
